Breadcrumb #555

January 14, 2020 by Bob Raymonda

JADE RIORDAN

My mouth is dirt
—good soil rich
in words like wind
-flower & cloud
-berry, fernleaf
lavender & paint
-ed daisy. O, I
salivate the soft
-est vibrancy of
petals, drink milk
-weed. O, I inhale
/exhale like baby’s
breath & sigh
a summer breeze.
O, I kiss sunlight,
say, sunflower,
a thousand times
over, my mouth
rich with hope.
